Beato Amedeo IX di Savoia, olio su tela, Primi '700
Questo dipinto, olio su tela dei primi del ’700, rappresenta il Beato Amedeo IX di Savoia, ed è un eccellente esempio di pittura devozionale post-barocca, eseguita in occasione della sua beatificazione nel 1677 (ufficializzata da Innocenzo XI, ma celebrata e promossa con maggiore diffusione nei primi decenni del ’700).
Il dito puntato verso il cartiglio, su cui è riportata la celebre frase:
"Esercita giudizio e giustizia e soccorri poveri, e il Signore darà la pace nei tuoi confini."
È un richiamo diretto alla sua fama di principe giusto e caritatevole, impegnato nella pace e nell’aiuto ai bisognosi.
Sullo sfondo si notano personaggi popolari, probabilmente rappresentanti del popolo bisognoso.

This painting, oil on canvas from the early 1700s, depicts Blessed Amadeus IX of Savoy, and is an excellent example of post-Baroque devotional painting, executed on the occasion of his beatification in 1677 (made official by Innocent XI, but celebrated and promoted more widely in the first decades of the 1700s).
The finger points to the cartouche, on which is the famous phrase:
"Exercise judgment and justice and succor the poor, and the Lord will give peace in your borders."
This is a direct reference to his reputation as a just and charitable prince, committed to peace and helping the needy.
Popular characters, probably representatives of the needy people, are noted in the background.
