Da Medardo Rosso, Scultura in Bronzo, "Henry Rouart", XX Secolo

L’opera è esito della collaborazione di Krugier con la nipote dell’artista Danila Rosso Parravicini, come indicato nel timbro. 

Henri Rouart indossa un’ampia casacca da artista e un berretto. Il suo viso, leggermente inclinato alla destra dell’artista, mostra l’età di un uomo maturo con barba e baffi. Il collezionista pittore inoltre siede probabilmente su una sedia perché la sua mano destra sembra poggiata sulla gamba accavallata mentre la mano sinistra sostiene una piccola tavolozza.

Il collezionista Henri Rouart praticava la pittura per diletto. La sua passione artistica era infatti talmente profonda che Medardo Rosso decise di rappresentare l’amico come un artista.

The work is the result of Krugier's collaboration with the artist's niece Danila Rosso Parravicini, as indicated in the stamp. 

Henri Rouart wears a large artist's tunic and cap. His face, slightly tilted to the artist's right, shows the age of a mature man with a beard and mustache. The painter collector also probably sits on a chair because his right hand seems to rest on his crossed leg while his left hand holds a small palette.
 Great supporter of the Impressionists and friend of Edgar Degas.

Collector Henri Rouart practiced painting for pleasure. In fact, his artistic passion was so deep that Medardo Rosso decided to represent his friend as an artist.
