Preparatory study by the painter from Bergamo, Luigi Trécourt, for the creation of the oil on canvas painting depicting the Madonna with Child, painted around 1860 and preserved at the Accademia Carrara in Bergamo.
The study presented here is a drawing measuring 71 x 54 cm made in pencil, stump drawing and white lead highlights on cardboard, the latter resting on a second, thicker cardboard, blue in color and annotated in pen by the painter, which by virtue of its larger dimensions also serves as a passe-partout.
The whole is contained in a beautiful period frame, decorated with gilded pastille friezes on the corners and white lacquer on the bands.
