Early 19th century fireplace surround from the Empire period. Made of walnut and veneered on the upper entablature with walnut burl; frame with two rows of gilded successive leaves applied with gesso; in the cornice, an egg-carved gilded frame and two large leaves carved and gilded on the uprights.
