This impressive 17th-century tapestry, originating from the Castle of Pollenzo (Bra, CN), depicts a lively hunting scene in a wooded landscape, a typical aristocratic iconography of the time. The work features rich colors, compositional complexity, and a figurative border with seated figures, putti, musical instruments, and floral motifs; elements that link it to the prestigious Brussels manufactory, at the time one of the major European centers for tapestry production. Mythological, allegorical, and naturalistic themes are intertwined in a refined visual language, intended to decorate noble residences. The executive quality and monumentality make it an excellent example of Flemish Baroque taste applied to tapestry art.
