Late 18th Century Italian Empire Giltwood Wall Lamp with Festoons and Garland Carving, an antique sconce realized with a carved and gold-leaf gilding vase, a socalled portapalme liturgical vase, converted into wall lamp. On the back side you can still see the trace of an element which allowed its vertical stability and the lateral signs of two missing handles. The central surface is finely engraved and decorated with the carving of a double-festooned garland of flowers.
The top features a lovely foliate carving decoration. In good age related condition with a working wiring suitable for an E27 bulb light. Minimal defects and wear of the gilding.
