Refined and rare game table of the Empire/early Viennese Biedermeier period, from the circle of Joseph Danhauser or perhaps himself. Vienna 1815 ca. Veneered in mirrored mahogany feather, with elegant threads and details in maple wood. The "futuristically pushed" line and the use of the precious head mahogany essence, rarely used in Vienna except in the very early Biedermeier period and in the Empire period and by the best cabinetmakers, bring it closer to the area of the great Danhauser. The table opens like a book, rotating on itself and showing the game board in fine leather. It is a work of wooden integrity with a museum standard shellac finish. Patina and signs of aging corresponding to antiquity. Measures cm.83 high, top width 89, depth 46.5 open 93x89. With sober, original and elegant lines that "conquer" time. Perfect also for pairing with high-end modern design in a combination of refined and prestigious elegance.
