Signature on the lower left. Important watercolor by Alberto Prosdocimi, an artist born in Venice in 1852 who trained at the Academy of Fine Arts and in his father's workshop. He was one of the greatest watercolorists of the 19th century, Venice was his inspiring muse. His technique is unmistakable, recognizable. He was also a great illustrator of manuscripts. A great teacher, known for being the master of royalty throughout Europe, he also had a large international market.
