Roll-top desk in full Louis XV style, curved on the front and sides, the result of high Parisian cabinet making from the mid-18th century. The piece, which has six drawers in the lower part, opens by extracting the desk top, which, by counterweight, rotates the cylinder, lifting it. Internal cabinet with drawers and compartments.
Entirely veneered with exotic rosewood and violet wood essences worked in a herringbone pattern, and characterized by splendid grains, arranged in a diamond pattern on the cylinder. Oak structure, as in the tradition of French cabinet making.
The refinement of the shape and the use of precious essences make it an important piece of furniture, destined to embellish a prestigious environment.
The expertly arranged veneer and the balance of the lines give great elegance to our furniture, reflecting the sensitivity, taste and technical virtuosity of a skilled Parisian cabinet maker of the mid-18th century
Finely chiseled and gilded bronze decorations.
Similar examples in terms of structure and type of rhomboid inlays can be seen in the furnishings made by the Parisian cabinet maker Jacques-Laurent COSSON, whose works were a source of inspiration for other artists such as Léonard Boudin, François Reizell and Guillaume Cordié.
The general conditions are perfect, authentic in every component.
