Refined Italian painting from the first half of the 18th century. Oil on canvas artwork depicting a splendid landscape with a capriccio of classical ruins and figures. Painting of remarkable pictorial quality attributable to the great Roman painter Andrea Locatelli (1695-1741). In the service of the most important noble families of the city, he devoted himself to allegorical painting, in particular landscapes with ruined architecture (The work is not currently accompanied by an expertise but it is possible to request it upon payment of the relevant additional costs). Scenic 20th century frame in finely carved and gilded wood, with some signs of aging. Painting already restored with relining, replacement of the frame and repainting in small spots. Painting overall in excellent state of conservation. Interior size H 60.5 x W 73.5 cm.
