Noli me tangere is a Latin phrase that can be translated into English as "Do not touch me". It comes from the Gospel of John. It was Jesus, resurrected, who said the phrase to Mary Magdalene who, distraught by his death, wandered near the tomb. The woman initially mistook Jesus for the keeper of the tomb.
