Scenic inlaid Directoire chest of drawers with two drawers, Rolo in walnut.

Unique and unmissable, Directoire chest of drawers with 2 drawers, in walnut and inlays of various woods (plum, walnut, cherry, maple, fossil oak...) from the Emilia area (Rolo) dating back to the early 19th century. Incredible furniture for shape and proportions, extremely scenic and exhilarating. A superimposed diamond pattern encloses the classic inlay of the Compass Rose, placed here in a very rare way, straddling the two drawers that close in abutment, hiding the central chain. Pyramidal foot indicative of era and origin. Present, coeval and functioning hardware. Interiors and linings in poplar. Superbly restored in patina. No restoration recommended.
