Vienna 1815-20 c.a. Circle of Joseph Danhauser or perhaps himself. Of remarkable rarity, an extraordinary extendable table with patina that preserves the telescopic mechanical extension mechanisms intact and a good part of the original support wheels. It is finely veneered in blond walnut feather with a warm original patina that reflects a warm, almost "golden" light. Elegant maple threads run along all sides and edges of the entire surface (including the extensions). It can be extended to three levels of length by inserting the three extensions together or individually. When closed it measures cm. 124.5x124.5, height cm.78. In the various opening measurements it measures at the first level cm. 124.5 x cm.212. With two extensions it measures cm. 283.5. With three extensions in the maximum extension it reaches cm. 372.5. Restored and consolidated with a conservative/integrative approach according to the rules of ancient art in later periods. With shellac finish applied with museum standard technique; patina and signs of use corresponding to antiquity. In the captions below are appreciated original drawings by Joseph Danhauser for similar tables in the circular variant, (kept in the library of the Museum of Applied Arts in Vienna, visible by appointment). Provenance: former prestigious Viennese noble collection.
