Carlo Maratti (Camerano 1625- Roma 1713)

Carlo Maratti known as "Maratta" (Camerano 1625 - Rome 1713). "Madonna with the Child Jesus in her arms offering a fruit", 1690-95. Unpublished and splendid painting by the great master of Roman Baroque. The painting was relined in the 19th century and is in exceptional condition. The work comes with an expertise by Prof. Francesco Petrucci, universally recognized as one of the most authoritative experts and connoisseurs of the Roman Baroque and promoter of the "Museum of Roman Baroque" inside Palazzo Chigi in Ariccia, where he also serves as curator. The painting is set in a gilded frame, from the 19th century, by the Bouvier brothers, Milan. Canvas dimensions 55x45.5, with frame 76x65.
