The work depicts a marine view identifiable as the Venetian lagoon. Some figures on the shore are busy collecting cockles or clams with the help of terracotta containers. The artist uses a fast brushstroke, with a light and rapid touch, characteristic of en plein air painting, that is, from life, which spread in the first half of the twentieth century. The fresh and immediate result emerges further thanks to a skillful use of whites that give luminosity and three-dimensionality to the scene. In good condition and with a coeval frame, the painting is characterized by its strong decorativeness.
