The structure retains its original charm and exhibits a pleasant antique patina developed over the centuries. The interior and the bottom are lined with velvet, an element that highlights its function as a container intended for the storage of precious objects, documents, or personal effects. The casket is in good general condition consistent with its age. There are normal signs of wear, abrasions, and age that attest to its authenticity. Some metal reinforcements, applied at a later date for conservation purposes, are visible on the back.
