Painting on panel within a dark brown and gold frame depicting the "Madonna and Child" seated on the Holy House, carried to heaven by a host of Angels. On either side are the figures of two saints; Saint Jerome and another unidentified Saint. The translation of the Holy House of Loreto is a religious event frequently depicted in paintings of the 15th, 16th, and 17th centuries. It is the depiction of the transport of the house of Nazareth of the Virgin Mary, moved to Loreto in 1294 to save it from destruction. Venetian School, 17th century.
