French chest from the second half of the 1500s, Renaissance style, made of walnut wood. The chest lid is smooth and flat, with squared corners, allowing the natural wood grain and patina of time to emerge. It serves both as a closure and a potential surface for resting objects or for seating. The main facade is symmetrically divided into two large rectangular panels. Within these panels, a sumptuous high-relief carving elaborates the wood, characterized by dense scrolling plant motifs.
