Corner Rosewood Game Table
Dimensions: : 77 cm,: 109 cm,: 55 cm
Description:

A Rosewood Corner Game Table made in Genoa in the mid-1700s. This refined corner game table resembles a triangular console table, with a folding top that folds into a square when opened, two small drawers threaded into the front, and round cabriole legs.

The elegant structure of this Genoese piece emphasizes soft, slender lines.

The front, punctuated by two small drawers in the lower section, whose contours are shaped, creates a harmonious interplay between the top and the long, curved cabriole legs underneath. By pulling the central leg of this corner table and using it as a support, the top folds open, transforming it into a square game table centered by a cloth.

Crafted with precious exotic woods, this table represents a refined example of Genoese cabinetmaking.

Crafted from rosewood veneers expertly combined by the cabinetmaker to create stunning color contrasts and iridescent highlights with the wood grain, the top of this Louis XIV piece is framed by a rosewood trim, masterfully placed against the grain, emphasizing the soft lines of the piece and the tonal contrast.

This antique Genoese piece is in fair condition, with signs of wear consistent with its 18th-century origin. Restoration is recommended.
