Open display plate with a wide rim and a shallow well, made of polychrome maiolica, decorated with red and purple berry motifs and floral vines.
The large format model (Ø 40 cm) belongs to the type of "bacile" or large table plates common in Italian production in the 18th century.

The main motif on the rim is a continuous vegetal vine with a wavy pattern, embellished with small fruits (red and dark berries), stylized foliage, and linear racemes. Three reserves with scattered floral/fruity bouquets are in the well. The rendering is free and cursive, with a quick brushstroke and delicate decoration, typical of serial production but of good quality from the 18th century, often intended for elegant domestic use.
The "small fruits" motif is part of the simplified naturalistic repertoire widespread in 18th-century maiolica, when decoration tended to favor stylized and repetitive vegetal elements rather than figurative scenes.
In the 18th century, Italian maiolica production was predominantly oriented towards objects of daily use, but decorated with lively and immediate taste, often inspired by the natural world (flowers, fruits, birds).
