Oil on canvas. Dutch school of the 18th century. In the dramatic scene, three sailing ships are at the mercy of a stormy sea; the Dutch flag flies on two of them, on the third, smaller one, almost a dinghy, another flag. Gray and stormy sky and sea create a uniformly gloomy background, in which a sliver of light opens on the right, in a tear in the clouds. The painting underwent restoration and relining in the past. It is presented in a contemporary antique frame.
