Bottle, "miniature sailing ship" – 1950s
Evocative blown glass bottle containing a detailed, handmade model of a four-masted sailing ship.
The vessel, complete with masts, rigging, and small flags, is placed inside the bottle using the traditional "ship in a bottle" craft technique.
These models are made with great precision, inserting the ship with lowered masts and then raising them inside using a system of threads. It is considered a symbol of craftsmanship and patience, often referred to as a "patience bottle".
The glass shows a slight patina and signs of age that attest to its authenticity and vintage charm. The internal model displays fine craftsmanship.
