Oil on canvas. Large pastoral scene, with a herd of cattle and sheep drinking at the river, while on the left a shepherdess gives directions to a traveler; in the background, bluish rocky hills. On the back of the canvas is written 'School of Domenico Brandi': the pictorial style indeed recalls the Neapolitan landscape painter (1684-1736), who was known for his bucolic landscapes animated by pastoral figures. It could therefore be the work of a student or follower. The painting has undergone restoration and re-canvasing in the past. It currently shows dirt marks. It is presented in a stylish frame.
