Venetian lacquered mirror  Translated
Description:
Refined 18th-century Venetian mirror, characterized by a richly carved wooden structure with naturalistic motifs. The frame is adorned with an intricate decorative apparatus composed of volutes, acanthus leaves, and a lively repertoire of embossed floral elements, painted in polychromy with pastel shades of blue, pink, green, and yellow on a light background. The rich upper crest features a triumph of fully sculpted flowers, while the sides are punctuated by dynamic and asymmetrical vegetal elements, typical of Rococo taste. The gilded inner band creates a luminous contrast with the external polychromy, framing the coeval mirror and accentuating its depth. Polychrome floral frames were intended for grand aristocratic and bourgeois reception rooms, where they combined practical function with ornamental value. VENICE 18TH CENTURY  Translated
