Three Meissen Polychrome and Gold Porcelain Fruit Stands, 1850  Translated
Dimensions: : 16.5 cm,: 23 cm,: 23 cm
Description:
Three Meissen Polychrome and Gold Porcelain Fruit Stands, 1850, in good condition. This set of three stands is hand-painted with flowers, foliage, and gold tendrils on a white and blue background. The bowl is decorated in polychrome, divided into reserves with figures, gallant scenes, and very detailed landscapes that alternate with portions painted in blue. The whole is framed by a multi-lobed and scalloped edge decorated with floral motifs in gold on white. It rests on a circular foot that reproduces the same polychrome decoration in blue and gold, with flowers painted in polychrome and miniatures with figures and landscapes. The bowl, the plate of each stand, used to hold fruit or sweets, is supported by a pedestal, fixed to the foot by a threaded brass core. This set of three German porcelain compote fruit or sweet stands, marked on the bottom with the blue Meissen mark of two crossed swords, comes from a private collection and is in good condition, without breaks or restorations, with signs of wear consistent with the 19th-century dating.
