Refined original etching entitled "Spring", a work by the famous master engraver Mario Calandri. The work is distinguished by a dense weft of signs that defines naturalistic and floral elements, typical of the artist's mature production, with extreme poetic sensitivity.
The engraving presents a dense and vibrant composition, where the chiaroscuro contrast enhances the delicacy of the flowers in the foreground against a tangle of vegetation expertly rendered through the etching technique. The work is signed in pencil by the author in the lower right and titled in the lower left.
This specific specimen is of particular documentary importance, being officially published in the General Catalog of the artist's works on page 206, number 316. Calandri's production is known for its ability to elevate the natural data to a lyrical and introspective dimension, making him one of the leading exponents of 20th-century Italian graphics.
The work dates back to the second half of the twentieth century (20th Century), a period of full expressive maturity of the Turin master.
The state of conservation appears excellent, with the imprint of the plate clearly visible and the margins intact. The work is presented within a protective mount.
