Still Life by Angelo Maria Rossi, 17th Century  Translated
Description:
Oil on canvas painting measuring 118 x 148.5 cm without frame and 133 x 163 cm with a wonderful contemporary frame, depicting fruits and vegetables outdoors with a guinea pig by the painter Angelo Maria Rossi (active in Milan in the second half of the 17th century). The literary history of this formidable still-life artist began in the mid-1980s thanks to Luigi Salerno, who finally managed to distinguish his works from those of other similar painters. We can state that Angelo Maria Rossi's main characteristic lies in the accentuation of light on the depicted subjects, sometimes achieving true iridescent effects of red, yellow, and green in the illustration of peaches, apples, quinces, and pears. In this large canvas, a large yellow pumpkin appears in the center, surrounded by grapes and apples of fine craftsmanship and with great color variations that make the work captivating. In this canvas, the main mass of the display moves along diagonal lines. The paintings and objects of art published here are my exclusive property and are therefore always available for in-person viewing, by appointment, at my exhibition spaces located in Sanremo and Brescia. The work, like all our items, is sold with a FIMA photographic certificate of authenticity and lawful provenance; this document identifies the object, adding value to the item. We personally handle and organize the packaging and shipping of artworks with insurance worldwide. Dr. Riccardo Moneghini Art Historian  Translated
