Refined and important French table from the early 19th century, made of finely mercury-gilded bronze and topped with an elegant circular porphyry marble top. The work is signed Thomire, one of the most famous Parisian bronze sculptors of the Empire period, official supplier to the Napoleonic court.
The structure features a rich decoration with classic motifs: the perimeter band of the top is adorned with a delicate crown of chiseled laurel leaves, while the central stem, of monumental taste, culminates in a tripod base with feline feet sculpted with extraordinary plastic quality. The balance of proportions and the perfection of the gilding testify to the highest level of craftsmanship.
The precious porphyry marble, a symbolic material of power and prestige since ancient times, gives further solemnity to the whole, making this table an authentic object of representation.
Work of great rarity and museum value, ideal for enriching prestigious environments or collections of French decorative arts from the Empire period.
