We present this beautiful white marble sculpture, probably from Carrara. The sculpture dates back to the late 19th century. On the back is engraved the signature A. Cipriani, probably Adolfo Cipriani (1857-1941), an important Florentine sculptor, lacking authentication. This fantastic sculpture is truly remarkable both for the choice of subject and its artistic quality, attributable to a sculptor who perfectly mastered sculptural techniques. A child attempts to get up from a chair, a gesture that may seem trivial but actually contains profound reflections: the first simple challenges of childhood, the sincere and natural determination of a child, the desire to grow and emulate the gestures of adults. Furthermore, the choice of this composition and subject allowed the sculptor to superbly express his ability to infuse dynamism into the sculpture with extreme naturalness. Observe the arms seeking the last grip on the chair while the body rotates cautiously and the little feet seek a safe landing on the floor. The child, with a serene but attentive expression, looks at the floor. The rest of the sculpture is equally remarkable in its rendering, with the natural folds of the fabrics and the perfectly sculpted straw chair. We find this sculpture simply fantastic! If you are passionate about sculpture, it could be a perfect addition to your collection.
