"SOLDIERS MARCHING" SCULPTURE BY BOSSO, 1930s  Translated
Description:
Unique and precious bronze sculpture cast using the lost-wax technique. Entitled "Soldiers Marching", it represents two soldiers advancing in march, with splayed legs, helmets distinctive of the infantry regiment of the Second World War, rifles resting on their backs and cloaks in the wind, placed on a rectangular base. The sculpture is typically Futurist, an expression of an avant-garde movement, highlighting influences of Cubism and Surrealism, with a pursuit of three-dimensionality that reflects the dynamism and energy of the modern world, known as "plastic dynamism". It is in excellent condition, with the artist's monogram "D. B" on the rear leg, which allows it to be attributed to the Venetian artist Renato Di Bosso (1905-1982), a great exponent of Futurism, largely influenced by the works of Boccioni. A sketch of the sculpture, painted by the artist and datable to 1936, is also preserved. It is a work of great value and uniqueness, capable of embellishing any environment with a touch of elegance and history. Italian manufacture from the 1930s.
