Jewelry box / casket - 19th century.
Splendid box made of veneered precious woods, with refined geometric inlays with dark thread and linear motifs along the sides and on the lid.
The upper surface is embellished with a central burr with a great decorative effect, framed by a complex inlaid border. Profiles and base finished with ebonized frames that enhance the chromatic contrast.
On the front there is an original lock with a key.
The interior houses a round mirror with an ebonized frame, a removable 6-compartment container for personal items, jewelry or documents. The object rests on modern non-original display supports.
Condition: very good, with slight signs of aging consistent with its age
