Unique and refined Orthodox icon, made on a carved wooden tablet and painted with lean tempera. The depiction features the Eye that sees (?????????? ??? ????? in Russian) in the center, an Orthodox Christian iconography that represents the omniscience and omnipresence of God. The divine Eye, in the center, is inserted in a complex structure of circles and geometric figures, evoking the mystery of the Trinity and the cosmic order, which recall the celestial hierarchies, the Trinity, the divine glory. In the center, inserted in a circle, the figure of Christ, which indicates the connection between the incarnate Word and divine omniscience. The symbols of the four Evangelists are represented on the four sides. Russian manufacture, probably from a provincial school, from the 19th century.
