Painted Wardrobe dated 1850  Translated
Description:
Painted Wardrobe dated 1850 Period: dated 1850 Origin: Tyrol area Wood: Fir Height: 175 cm Width: 125 cm (138 cm at the frames) Depth: 49 cm (58 cm at the frames) Description: Antique Alpine two-door wardrobe, dated 1850. The deep, luminous blue background, rich in patina, hosts a sequence of vertical panels decorated with vases full of flowers, executed with a vibrant palette dominated by reds, greens, and touches of ivory. The floral compositions alternate tulips, buds, and ramages, creating a harmonious decorative rhythm typical of 19th-century Tyrolean folk painting. The side surfaces are painted in a warm golden ochre, enriched with phytomorphic inserts and flowing brushstrokes. The vertical red and white bands, with sinuous motifs, frame the sides and add a dynamic and scenographic effect. The upper hat and the base show a faux marble finish in pinkish and earthy tones. The proportions, compact but slender, combined with the chromatic intensity and the richness of the decoration, make this wardrobe an ideal element both for traditional interiors and for contemporary environments looking for a focal point of strong personality. The stylistic and pictorial elements fully reflect the Alpine tradition of the mid-19th century, a period in which folk painting reached an extraordinary expressive vivacity.
