Dimensions: : 264 cm,: 65 cm,: 38 cm
Description:

An exceedingly rare and impressive Louis XVI period Italian three-light sconce realized with three red processional pricket torches, more than eight foot tall.

Red Procession Sticks have octagonal section, are joined together by a central pin,   to form a group of three torches that are placed against the wall and remain away from it in the upper part where a lamp holder powered by an external electric wire has been fixed. Not working European standard wiring.

Original from the 18th century, decorated with a lovely foliate and acanthus leaf carving, these wall lights are a unique artwork creation of an Italian craftsman.

Original gold-leaf gilding with squares decorated with red and green aniline. In good age related condition, with signs of wear and gilding losses. They come from a private villa in Milan.

This remarkable religious decorative objects was exquisitely hand-carved in Northern Italy in the early eighteenth century.
