Antique Tyrolean Painted Wardrobe  Translated
Description:
Blue Painted Wardrobe Technical information: Period: circa 1805 Origin: Tyrol Wood: Fir Height: 185 cm Width: 149 (166 at the frames) cm Depth: 52 (63 at the frames) cm Description: Tyrolean wardrobe in fir wood, datable around 1805, of remarkable dimensions and with a striking scenic impact. The structure is imposing, with a rectangular body resting on six solid "onion" turned feet, typical of Alpine production. The upper frame is overhanging, shaped, decorated with polychrome motifs, and frames the entire piece of furniture, giving it dynamism and movement. The two front doors feature large central panels painted with vertical floral compositions: large tulips, red and blue petal flowers, curved foliage and vegetal volutes, all enclosed within geometric frames with a polygonal section, painted in brownish red. The sides are also embellished with polychrome paneling, with floral and "faux marble" patterns that testify to the attention paid to the decoration of each side of the furniture. The lower part is punctuated by two rectangular panels also painted in "faux marble". The interior, in natural fir wood, reveals the constructive simplicity, with large nailed boards and sturdy wrought iron hinges. The locks and hardware are original, of contemporary manufacture. The painting, authentic and datable to the time of execution, shows an intense chromatic range: light blue background, red, ocher and dark blue for the decorations, with a lived-in patina that underlines the long history of the furniture. A cabinet that combines function and decorative prestige: solid in construction, richly painted on each side and originally intended to furnish representative environments or bridal chambers in the Alpine valleys. An example that fully preserves the historical and artisanal authenticity of its time. Restoration information: The photographs you see portray the cabinet not yet restored or only partially restored. At the time of sale, the internal and external restoration will be completed according to the customer's tastes and desires. Our laboratory guarantees a conservative restoration, aimed at respecting the integrity and authenticity of each piece of furniture. All pieces are treated to ensure solidity, durability and hygiene. At the end of the interventions, the cabinet will be ready for use, suitable for containing clothing, dishes or food. Interventions planned: Structural restoration: restoration of small missing parts, closure of any cracks on the back, consolidation of deteriorated areas, control and repair of hardware. Accurate anti-woodworm treatment. Cleaning and sanitizing of the interior. External finish with natural beeswax. Internal finish with shellac, a natural alcohol-based varnish. Customizations: On request, it is possible to agree on: the desired degree of restoration; the customization of the interiors (addition of clothes rails, shelves, dividers, etc.).  Translated
