Plate "The Gentle Activities. The Progenitors" – Gio Ponti Porcelain plate decorated with touch-ups on gold chrome, painted in "Ponti blue" and gold on hydrofluoric acid engraving. In the center of the plate, inside a circular reserve, is placed the primeval nucleus of the species' progenitors; from it departs a subdivision of the space into sectors and compartments, 18 in all, delimited by golden frames with columns in relief. Inside each compartment, a naked male figure or female with classic clothes, embodies an activity related to the intellect or art undertaken by humanity. Model no. 4351, decoration no. 99 E.
