Description
Charles II sterling silver tankard, silversmith WS, London, 1676?
Slightly tapered, the body fully embossed and chased with floral and fruit motifs such as grapes and pears. The lid, flat and decorated with motifs echoing the body of the tankard, is hinged and features a double dolphin clasp. The volute handle is partly decorated and openwork. An coat of arms is engraved on the front of the tankard body.

Maker's mark: WS unidentified
Passant Lion: alloy mark. Guarantee control of the sterling silver grade 925/1000
Leopard's head with crown: city of London
