Portrait of the Dauphin in ivory frame - O/7439/1 -

Small portrait of Louis Charles, son of Louis XVI and Marie Antoinette. Official documents state that he died in prison on June 8, 1795 at the age of 10, but numerous testimonies of the time stated that the Dauphin of France managed to save himself thanks to a replacement of person. The frame is in ivory and ebony. Measures: cm. 12 x 9.8 x thickness 1 cm. Period: around 1780.
