Pair of Silver Besamin

Pair of circular Silver Besamin with a triangular base on which three silver rampant lions rest, supporting a sphere that opens at the top to contain spices. The spherical part is decorated on the top by an engraved sunburst with a small turquoise set within a circular interweaving of silver threads. The inner edge of the spherical container bears hallmarks of the city of St. Petersburg from the first half of the 1800s, while in our opinion this antique pair of silver spice holders dates back to the early 1900s.
