Elegant Emilian drop-front desk of Parmesan manufacture, datable to the mid-eighteenth century, the full Louis XV period. Solid wood furniture sculpted, entirely hand-carved, with rich rocaille decorations on the front, sides and drop-front.
The cabinet has three slightly curved drawers on the front and a sloping drop-front which conceals an internal compartment with small drawers. The sides, although linear, are also richly carved with floral motifs. The legs are shaped and the original bronze escutcheons and handles complete the ensemble with coherent and refined taste.
Preserved in the first patina, it has never undergone invasive restorations: only minimal consolidating interventions are reported (some small remakes to secondary elements of the legs and edges). It is an intact and authentic piece of furniture, full of charm, which tells its story through the lived-in surfaces and the warm intonation of the aged wood.
