Splendid painted wooden board for calendaring clothes, early 19th century.
Period : Early 19th century
Splendid board for calendering (wringing) with a zoomorphic handle in the shape of a horse.
The upper surface is beautifully and richly carved with complex rosettes, hearts and other stylized motifs.
Signs of woodworm (not active) are visible, the 4 corners have been filled to consolidate it.
