Elegant white marble bust, supported by a circular turned marble base. The bust depicts a young charioteer, portrayed with a serene expression, and with his face framed by curly and voluminous hair. The chiton, the traditional tunic worn by charioteers, is also partially visible, highlighting his graceful bearing. Made in Tuscany, the bust clearly reflects the distinctive features of the Directoire era, placing it in an artistic period ranging from the late 18th century to the early 19th century. The workmanship is of the highest quality, with refined details and particular attention to facial expressions and the rendering of the drapery. An element of further interest is found on the back of the bust, where there is an inscription, dated 1878, which testifies to a gift this splendid sculpture has been the object of. With its elegance and delicacy, this bust is not only a work of art, but also a piece of furniture capable of enriching any environment, conferring a touch of class and refinement.
