Interesting and solid Italian (Alessandria) solid silver vegetable dish, 800 silver grade: rectangular with a bayonet fitting handle, it was made in the mid-20th century (1940/1950) by the silversmith Cesa from Alessandria (photo n°9). Finished on the edges with classic Empire palmettes (photo n°3): the height of the vegetable dish without handle is 9 cm. By removing the bayonet fitting handle, it is possible to use it as two serving dishes (photo n°5): one measures 29x19 cm (h.4.5) the other 28x17 cm (h.4.5). The historic silversmith Cesa 1882 acquired the majority of Argentieria Ricci, another of the most important companies in the city of Alessandria, from the owning family in 1988, and this acquisition led to the creation of a single group that quickly positioned itself at the top of the Italian silverware sector.
