Louis Félix Bigaux (1858-1933) was born in Lessay, in the Channel and had Delfosse and Defay as his masters.
He began to exhibit at the "Salon des Artistes" in Paris in 1880 and from 1889 he was a member of the Society of French Artists.
The antique frame and oil painting have been carefully and professionally restored.
