Saint Jerome, figure of a saint with a skull in his hand and a red cloak.
This Saint Jerome evokes the best figurative culture of southern Italy, more specifically Neapolitan from the 17th century, with evident stylistic references to Jusepe de Ribera.
The painting is accompanied by an expertise, after careful viewing of the original, by Professor Emilio Negro, who attributes it to the painter Giovanni Ricca (Naples -1603-1656).
Painting in good condition, measures 133x94.5 cm, frame 150x110 cm.
Mid-20th century frame.
