Chinoiserie lacquered mirror. Elegant lacquered wood mirror with a black background, embellished with refined chinoiserie decorations. The frame, richly adorned with gold and brick red decorations, features two oriental figures — Chinese figures — on the sides supporting a parasol and a banner. At the vertices of the frame, two birds complete the composition with symmetrical grace. The mirror glass is engraved and depicts an enchanting oriental landscape: a pagoda immersed in elegant vegetation, in the center of which a Chinese character is caught in the act of fishing in a delightful little lake.
