Portrait of a Gentleman, 1800, a rectangular watercolour painting of great skill on paper depicting the portrait of a noble gentleman shown in three-quarter view. The miniature has a modern frame and requires two small touch-ups in the middle right and top left, as can be seen in the photo. Probably of English origin, it dates back to the first half of the 1800s. On the back of the frame, on the lining, we find the label J.H. Blight, Carver, Gilger Picture Frame Manufacturer, 2 bath street Jersey.
