Description: Historically interesting this ancient funerary mask (cm.41x18; h.47) of a 62-year-old barbaric woman (1847-1909) made in plaster and modeled accurately and with a realistic sense. Made in Sardinia in 1909, thanks to the writing found inside the display case (photo n°10) we can trace back to the person's name and dates: few could afford this treatment and although it may seem macabre, it is thanks to these casts that we know many faces of the past. Placed inside a coeval Art Nouveau display case finished with floral engravings made specifically for this cast: the round glass measures cm.Ø20. Ribbons folded inside: black, satin, hand-painted with angels, the writings of the family and Rest in peace. Perfect state of preservation.
