Full details of this work can be found directly from the following - LINK -
A rich floral composition, arranged with a studied casualness on two levels at different heights, where the two flower bouquets are gathered in large metal vases; some flowers seem to overflow from their seats and fall to the ground, in a whole that stands out for the elegant structure, combined with the freshness and brilliance of the colors.
The soft and nuanced way in which the color is applied and the points of contact with seventeenth-century Lombard painting allow us to trace the work to the circle of the Milanese painter Francesca Volò Smiller, known as Vincenzina (Milan, 1657 - 1700), a refined specialist in this pictorial genre, and an important exponent of the largest and most prolific family of Milanese painters of the seventeenth century.
The founder of this high-level and equally successful "family business" was the father, the Italianized Frenchman Vincenzo Volò, known as Vincenzino dei Fiori (1601-1671), who, in addition to Francesca, also hired his brother Giuseppe Volò (also nicknamed "Vicenzino") and his sister Margherita Volò Caffi in the workshop.
Francesca's painting is characterized by a high executive quality, for the rendering of flowers through an intense and heartfelt naturalism, with a prevalence of acidic and cold colors enlivened by touches of deep red and illuminated by the skillful use of white; Francesca arranges cut flowers or flowers arranged in a vase in the open air and with great compositional freedom, whose sparkling colors (pink, white and yellow are preferred) emerge from the dark background.
The canvas is in good condition.
