Beautiful mid-18th century Venetian mirror. (134 x 96 cm)

Work accompanied by a warranty certificate that certifies its age and authenticity. Beautiful finely carved and gilded mirror from the Venetian area, made around the mid-18th century. Its precious carved decoration features rich phytomorphic motifs of vegetal and floral volutes, which branch off from the upper sides and incorporate the richly and elegantly carved crest. The crest features a decoration of dense and precious interweaving that moves upwards, ending in a sort of lily with a small rose. The carved decoration of the frame that supports the mirror is very beautiful, also with vegetal and floral interweavings made in low relief. Furthermore, the dotted and geometric pattern burin engravings that are present on the entire surface of the mirror are very evocative. The mirror is contemporary and in excellent condition. The same goes for the carpentry and gilding, which remains of high quality. The mirror comes from an important Venetian noble palace and has never circulated on the antiques market. The back shows original wood, as can be seen from the photo that shows how the glass lining was made with axe blows, as was typical in ancient carpenter workshops. The measurements of the mirror are: Maximum measurements: approximately 134 x 96 cm; mirror measurements including frame: 88cm x 70cm.
